We arrived at Three Sheep’s to the Wind Cottage with a loaded car and very excited kids on Thursday morning, the day was spent playing on the little beach at the waterfront, swimming of the dock, and a boat ride. We bbq’d for supper and settled in for the evening. After the kids were in bed we watched a dvd and then hit the hay.
The next morning we went loaded the kids in the canoe and went for paddle around the basin, looking for ducks and other wild life, we waived at other boaters and cottage owners, everybody seemed to be out enjoying the great weather and celebrating Canada Day at the cottage. We have guests arrive after we back to the cottage we ate lunch and then we piled on our sailboat and off we went for a day sail. After the sail we returned to the cottage hung around on the dock for the afternoon of sun and just relaxing. After our BBQ supper we did a little fishing off the dock and enjoyed sunset, then on whim decided to go to Back Harbour Chester for the Canada Day Fireworks. It was a late night for the kids but it was a wonderful time for everyone. We returned to cottage after and hit the hay , it was a long action packed day for everyone.
On Saturday morning the fog had settled in the basin which gave the place a quiet calm feel, we took our morning coffee down to the dock and had a morning chat to plan the day, which ended up being a stay put day, I went to Chester to pick up a few groceries and supplies and the kids did some more fishing and swimming. The sun came out at supper time and after our meal we had a campfire and enjoyed some smores and campfire songs and dancing. It turned out to be a another late night but again memories were made.
Its Sunday now and our guest are packed up and gone, and now I sit writing this blog post while we wait for grandparents to come for an after noon visit before we pack up to head home. This weekend is one for the history books forsure the weather couldn’t have been better and the kids had a great time being ‘outdoors’ and unplugging. The cottage has a rural data internet connection with limited bandwidth we just told the kids there was no internet and they didn’t have the access password, this was the best decision we made ;o)
Until Next Time, Happy Cottaging
